IHWD will be converting to a new utility billing software beginning early in 2023. After start up costs, the new system will save the District money spent on billing software.
A Base Rate of $40.00 is charged to every account monthly.
Water use is billed per gallon according to a tiered structure. Please see the Water Fee Schedule in Customer Documents.
Billing statements are sent out the first week of each month for the previous month's water usage.
Please submit your payment by the 25th of each month. Payments can be made by check, online from a checking account or credit card, bank bill pay, or auto-payments.
If there is a leak on a service line or multi-service line, the property owner(s) are responsible for the repair costs including excavation. Please see Section 5 of the IHWD Rules and Regulations using the link or in the Customer Documents.
Please call 811 or go online to colorado811.org to request utility locates before starting any project that includes digging. The utility companies, including IHWD, will mark buried utility lines within a couple of days.
This Colorado "Call before you dig" law is in place to protect underground facilities from damages relating to excavation. "Excavation" shall not include routine maintenance on existing planted landscapes
With the Badger Beacon meter upgrade, customers can access water usage data online by clicking on the link below to sign in or set up your account.
The EyeOnWater App is also available in your smart phone's App store.
A benefit of the meter is early leak detection.

Cold weather can damage your pipes and cause water loss. Consider taking these steps:
- Insulate pipes located in cold, drafty places or exposed to outside walls.
- Using heat tape can prevent freezing. Inspect existing heat tape to make sure it is in good condition.
- Open the doors of your sink base cabinet so that warm air can reach water pipes.
- Please don’t leave water dripping – it wastes water, raises your water bill, and can damage your septic system.
- Disconnect all outside hoses.
